Beekeepers Association in attendance at Pollination Festival

The Cambridgshire Beekeepers Association are kindly supporting our first ever Pollination Festival, bringing with them a working beehive and some delicious local honey. Planting pollinator friendly plants is a great way to encourage more wildlife in your garden.

Patricia Sadler gives a talk to Ramsey Gardening Club about the history of Oakington Garden Centre and our plans for the future

Young Patricia
A young Patricia on site

Patricia was given a warm welcome by Ramsey Gardening Club. She told them all about growing up on site and how the business has evolved over the years. She described changing trends in horticulture and the development of our “Oakington Grown” range of plants, which are raised on site. She was also able to share some of our exciting plans for 2025, which will see the entire Garden Centre expanded and improved.

Plant Team celebrate most successful season so far with “Oakington Grown” Shrubs, Bedding and Perennials.

2024 saw us grow the largest quantity and variety of flowering perennials and bedding plants since we started growing on site again in 2019. The Plant Team have worked so hard to ensure that these plants arrive on the shop floor in beautiful condition. Customers have really appreciated having the option to “buy local” and the competitive price point.
